Toledo, Ohio and the surrounding small towns and villages of Northwest Ohio offer literally dozens of special events throughout the year, including fairs and festivals, arts and crafts shows, holiday parades and sporting events. The following is just a sample of what you can expect to find while visiting the Toledo area.

Maple Sugaring Festival - A family festival with historic, scientific, and educational activities that celebrate this ancient North American activity. Exhibitors from arrowhead makers to tomahawk demonstration, children's games, and much more. Located at the Stranahan Theater in Toledo, the first weekend in April.

Annual Historic Old West End Festival – held in June in the Historic Old West End of Toledo, which has one of the largest concentrations late Victorian, Edwardian, and Arts & Crafts homes east of the Mississippi. Festival features historic home tours, artist fair of over 100 artists, children's activities, yard and garage sales, food, entertainment, and a parade Saturday morning. This annual festival brings 40,000 visitors to the Toledo area.

Black Swamp Benefit Bazaar - a two-day family festival and auction celebrating Mennonite history and traditions. Friday night features a silent auction and mini auction while Saturday's main event is a major quilt and furniture auction. Other activities include a children's activity area, car show, homemade food booths, crafts from around the world, artist demonstrations, and children's auction. Usually held in June.

Art Tatum Jazz Heritage Festival – This festival is usually held in June and brings the best local, regional and national jazz performers to the Festival stage year after year. Past performers have included Nancy Wilson, Ramsey Lewis, Fathead Newman, Winard Harper and a host of great local jazz artists.

Crosby Festival of the Arts – Usually held in June at the Toledo Botanical Garden. This two-day event features 250 of North America’s finest artists. This premier arts event allows visitors to experience a quality art show in a beautiful garden setting. Enjoy food, entertainment and children’s art activities all weekend long.

Black Swamp Arts Festival in September - A fine art & fine craft juried art show.

MacQueen’s Apple Butter Festival – Usually held in October. Festival featuring craft show, apple butter making, pick your own apples (for a fee), cider making, pony rides, barbecue chicken and ribs, Christmas gift barn, bakery and much more.

Grand Rapids (Ohio) Apple Butter Festival - Historical event featuring apple butter making, farm exhibits, military and colonial life reenactments, pioneer demonstrations, juried crafts and collectibles, and wonderful fall foods such as bratwurst, steel kettle bean soup and apple creations.
