Toledo, Ohio
has almost every type of lodging facility imaginable, from luxury hotels in the heart of downtown to budget motels, lakeside resorts and cottages. The city is divided into five distinct areas, Downtown, North Toledo, South, East and West Toledo, with a large number and variety of hotels, motels, inns, bed and breakfasts, motor lodges and luxury suites available. Your choice depends on the area of town you wish to stay, and what amenities or special services you require, such as limited or full service, handicapped assistance, on-site restaurants, indoor or outdoor pool, in-room whirlpool, exercise facilities, playgrounds, free parking, pets allowed and airport shuttle service.
Specific examples of the types of accommodations you can expect in Toledo include upscale hotels located in the center of downtown, just minutes from nationally renowned restaurants and shopping, and located within walking distance of quaint neighborhoods, movie theatres, specialty shops and supermarkets. All Toledo area hotels are designed for both the business traveler and family vacationer, with guest rooms that feature attractive décor, dataports, complimentary local phone calls, Satellite TV, pay-per-view movies, coffee makers, hairdryers, and a cozy furniture. Some are, of course, more luxurious than others with amenities such as fitness center, sauna or Jacuzzi. One downtown hotel even features a 12,000 square-foot, indoor, Olympic-size pool. Most all hotels and motels are easily reached via the major interstates and highways. For families on a budget, there are several good, clean, comfortable and convenient motels located in and around the city. One hotel is located at the Toledo Airport that offers free continental breakfast and is just minutes to several restaurants, Interstate 80/90 and just twenty miles to downtown Toledo. For those who enjoy the ambiance and charm of staying in a bed & breakfast, Toledo can also accommodate you. Enjoy all the romance of a true Victorian B&B, including one that is listed on the National Historic Register. Just minutes from downtown, this particular bed & breakfast features a foyer and three-story grand staircase all done in glowing red oak and a beautiful dining room done in Honduran mahogany. In neighboring Perrysburg, Ohio is another historic bed & breakfast located on a 10-acre estate along the Maumee River. It features four very large guestrooms, each with a private bath, three of which have Jacuzzi bathtub and shower. This bed and breakfast has been completely remodeled with large wrap around deck overlooking the river.
If you enjoy camping, the Toledo area also has several nearby campgrounds and RV parks. Some feature amenities like swimming pools, miniature golf, fishing, swimming and boat rentals, grills, fire pits, water and electric hook-ups. East Harbor State Park is located just a short drive from Toledo on Lake Erie, and is the largest campgrounds in the Ohio State Parks System. Out on the lake, Kelly’s Island, Put-in-Bay and Middle Bass Island all have campgrounds, as well.
